2016-2017 LSSU Calendar  


  • *NEW* Mr. Morrison's post on Proficiency-Based Learning. Make sure to subscribe too!

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive: A Turkey for every table! Nobody should go hungry, especially at the holidays.  The Stowe Schools in partnership with the Blessed Sacrament Church, Stowe Community Church, and the Lamoille Family Center are collecting food to feed 30 families.  Please help us by taking a feather and returning the item listed to that same location by Thursday, November 17th.  We have collection boxes and freezer space available for storage at each school.  Please give gift cards to the front office to hold.  Your generosity is affording every family the opportunity to have a warm and hearty Thanksgiving together.  We sincerely thank you for sharing some love.

  • Congratulations to the Class of 2023 for raising $59,635.85 in sales and donations with the Fruit and Wreath Fundraiser! WOW!Thanks to all who helped, bought and donated! The wreaths will be decorated next Friday November 18th after school! The students will help unload the truck during the day when it arrives and all students and available parents are asked to stay after school (+/- 2:30-6pm) and help decorate the wreaths until they are all ready to go! The more helping hands the faster we finish!

  • Recital Evening at Spruce Peak Performing Art Center – Band Members; please arrive at SPPAC by 6:00pm, Chorus members; please arrive by 6:15pm. Please remember concert attire is ALL BLACK. The performance is TOMORROW, Thursday, November 17th at 7:00pm.

  • The 30th Annual Turkey Trot will take place on Saturday, November 19th. Registration begins at 10:00am at LeBier Reality; entry fee is $10, plus a non-perishable food for the Food Shelf. Race time is at 11:00am (be prompt)! First place male and female win a Turkey, plus lots of other prizes. Registration forms are located in the high school office.


  • *NEW* Supporting Locals Living with Type 1 Diabetes Seminar - Link


  • Friday Program registration forms and applicable waivers must be signed by a parent and returned with any fees in the high school office as soon as possible!!!!!

  • Union to develop a communications plan to get the word out on our progress on these two Act 77 initiatives.  Your feedback will contribute to this plan and is much appreciated.

  • The Refugee Outreach Club is hosting a winter clothing drive from  November 7th through  December 16th! Please bring in new or gently used winter coats, hats, mittens, boots, and any other warm clothing to the main lobby or to the lobbies at local elementary schools in the district. All donations will be going to the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program and other organizations with a mission to provide for local New American communities in Vermont.

  • Winter Sports Registration: You can now register online for winter sports. Go to the NEW website www.stoweschoolsvt.com, at the top of the page click on Our Schools, go to Stowe Middle, click on School links, then to SMS Athletics, then click on Register for Sports online.  


  • The Stowe MS Nordic program will begin the week of 11/28. It will consist of 3-4 days/ week of training and races. Athletes will need both classic and skate skis. There will be an informational meeting for athletes on 11/15 at 3:00 in the Auditorium. If you have questions please email joanna.graves@lssuvt.org or cavandyke46@gmail.com

  • Stowe Rec Basketball: For 3rd-6th graders, starting in November, $40 fee.  Registration available here.

  • The Gym will be CLOSED on Monday November 21st and Tuesday November 22nd. The floors will be off limits as they are being prepared for the upcoming Basketball season! The gym will reopen on Monday November 28th.


  • Mount Mansfield Martial Arts is putting on an introduction to Tai Chi program. The program will run on Tuesday nights from 6:15-7pm at Studio 108 in Stowe. The course dates are Nov. 29th, Dec 6,13,20. The program is $55 for the public. Free for all Stowe School District Teachers and Staff.  Please contact Sdgdragon@aol.com to register.

  • Come support the High School Musical "Urinetown" on Friday, November 18th at 7:00pm, Saturday, November 19th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and on Sunday, November 20th at 2:00pm. Tickets are $ 10/adults and $7/students 14 and under.

  • The 2017 Ella Skye Art Calendar is here! There are so many ways to grab one before they sell out…on the web at www.ellaskyeart.com, Black Cap Coffee or Bear Pond Books in Stowe. You can also email Ella's mom at lauramacdonaldvt@gmail.com and have it delivered right to the high school. Calendars are %15.95 ($16.60 w/tax) 10% of all calendars sold support Heartbeet Lifesharing in Hardwick. Support local art, autism awareness and Heartbeet all at the same time!

  • 4th Annual Hunger's Hard, Baking's Easy! It's that time of year again! Please join your fellow friends and bakers as we prepare and donate baked good to the Lamoille Community food Share, Meals on Wheels, Clarina Howard Nichols and other great organizations in our area for the Thanksgiving holiday.
