  • Parent Teacher Conference Sign Ups now available!  We will be holding our fall conferences on the following dates.  Please click here to register for a slot.  New families (and 6th grade families) will need to create new accounts.  

    • Thursday, November 3rd, 3-8pm

    • Friday, November 11th, 9am-6pm


  • Directory Reminder:  Please fill out the electronic form (link below) if  you would like to be included in the 2016-2017 SMS/SHS Directory.  All school families will be given a copy of this directory in the Fall.  Providing information is optional.

The is a joint project of the Stowe Boosters and the Stowe Education Fund.  These organizations support our schools and hope to provide a valuable reference for our school community.  Please contactstoweeducationfund@gmail.com if you have any questions.  


  • Picture Makeups: Makeup photos are scheduled for Wednesday, October 26th.  There will be an all-call for students that need to take photos when they are ready - will be close to 8am.


  • Garden Work Session - Tuesday, October 4, from 2:45 - 3:45

    • Community service credit will be awarded

    • Student and teacher help is welcome and needed

    • If you want to help but can't make this date, don't worry, there will be other dates this fall


  • Garden T-shirt art contest -

    • Design the artwork for our new SMS Garden T-shirts

    • Include fruit, vegetables and wildlife in your design

    • Art must include the words SMS Garden - a quote is optional

    • Art must fit on an 8.5 x 11 inch paper

    • Submit your designs to Mr. Grogan

    • The winning designer gets a free T-shirt


  • SHS Principal Search: The Stowe School District will be appointing a screening committee of parents, community members and teachers to conduct the first phases of the search for a new principal for Stowe High School.  If you are interested in being considered for this committee, please email Tracy Wrend at "tracy.wrend@lssuvt.org" by October 14, 2016.  Please indicate why you wish to serve and what you can offer as a member of the committee.

    • Committee service requires a significant commitment of time during the school day and possibly some evenings, spanning from late fall through the month of January.

    • We expect more expressions of interest than we can accommodate, however would welcome the opportunity to consider anyone who is interested and able to serve.

  • Help decorate a banner for Raiders Day! After school in the art room this Thursday 10/6. Sign up outside of the office to participate!


  • Food Drive: Ends Friday!! Bring food to your TA or the Middle School lobby.


  • Health Information Verification Forms: Please send these in to the MS Office.  They were included in the summer packet with the e-registration and portal information.  The HIV forms needs to signed and returned to the office per state mandate.  Thank you!


  • September Raider Review: Check out curriculum updates, upcoming events, and photos of our students hard at work!


  • Catamounts Ball Handling Club: Open to 1st-8th graders, 6 weeks, $50.  Registration forms are here or available in the office.


  • To Sign Up for the Ping Pong Doubles Tournament - See Ms. Ortiz in the SMS office. The cost is $25 per team. Prizes for the top 3 teams, fun & lots of ping pong for everyone who participates!


  • 6th Graders - Please bring in your Fruit and Wreath $25 deposits.  Drop off in the MS Office.  Deposits due by October 5th and the sale starts October 6th!!


  • Airtober Fest Fly In: Morrisville-Stowe Airport, Saturday, October 15th, Free Young Eagles rides for kids age 8-17, more details here!


  • Essay Contest: The Hyde Park VFW sponsors an essay contest each year.  The theme is "The America I Believe In."  Cash prizes.  More details here; submissions forms are available in the office.


  • Navigating Special Education Workshop:  Lamoille County Family Center, October 11th, 6-8pm, Free



COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

We will be posting in-school and out-of-school options as they become available. Check back for updates.  

  • Garden Work Session - Tuesday, October 4, from 2:45 - 3:45

    • Community service credit will be awarded

    • Student and adult help is welcome and needed

  • SEF Pumpkin Event on Monday 10/10:

    • Set-up:  4:30 PM: 4-6 people

    • Usher people upstairs in the Akeley Memorial building and help get everyone seated, attend story time and make sure people are listening, staying in seats etc.; 4:45-5:45PM; 4-6 people (also help usher out when story telling is over)

    • Arrange pumpkins and help light them during story time: 4:30-6:00PM; 6 people

    • Set up & serve refreshments: 5:00-6:30 PM; 4-6 people

    • Clean-up: 6:00-6:45PM; 4-6 people
