  • Navigating Special Education Workshop:  Lamoille County Family Center, October 11th, 6-8pm, Free

  • Act 46 Self Evaluation Process Begins - Over the summer, the State Board of Education published draft rules for school districts seeking an alternative to merging under Act 46. This week, the Stowe and Elmore-Morristown school boards met to begin the self-evaluation process required for an "alternative governance structure," in our case two separate school districts operating collaboratively under the umbrella of the Lamoille South Supervisory Union (LSSU). This process will continue for months to come and, as always, the meetings are open to the public. The LSSU board will continue the self-evaluation process at their next meeting on November 30, 2016. Stowe and LSSU minutes and agendas can be found on the new Stowe Schools website at https://sites.google.com/a/lssuvt.org/ssd/home.

  • From the Superintendent: Jeff Maher will be retiring from Stowe High School at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.   He has served the students of the Stowe School District for the last ten years, and his presence at the school will be greatly missed.

    • This means that the school board must make the very important decision of who will be the next principal at Stowe High School.  The process will begin formally in December and include the appointment of a search committee, comprised of teachers, community members and facilitated by an administrator.  The information from the search committee will direct additional exploration of candidates, and, ultimately, inform the decision of the board.  Our goal is to appoint Stowe High School's new principal during March, 2017.

    • Please join us in wishing Jeff the best, and contact me at any point if you have questions, concerns or suggestions.

  • Lost and Found for the Middle School is located in the MS Lobby on the big, green bookcase.  It will be cleared out EVERY FRIDAY.

  • Homework Club: It has officially begun and runs from 2:35pm-3:30pm each day in the Learning Center.

  • Chromebook Cases: Protect your Chromebook with the Raider Chromebook Case. $24 and available at the office.

  • HDAC Young Filmmakers Afterschool Camp - How the story is told will affect whether a film is memorable or utterly forgettable. In this workshop, young filmmakers will explore the basics of storytelling in film with an emphasis on story, plot and characters. Each participant will choose an aspect of film that appeals to them (ie. editing) and will participate on their team in that capacity. The final result will be a collaboratively created short film. This workshop is for every young fan of film regardless of experience.  Starts September 13th!
